In The Office, On The Road and In The Field

SHCC relies exclusively on Apple laptops and desktops for all computing needs. The new Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro running the latest version of Mac OS X enables Mr. Hill to stay productive throughout the office, on the road, and anywhere business takes him.

The advantages of this configuration are numerous. Mac OS X is a notoriously stable operating system relatively free from crashes and to date, not a single virus has been successfully released to compromise the system. No downtime for re-formatting hard drives, virus scans, or the inevitable crashes that come with Windows. Due to the maturity and wide support by developers for Mac OS X, SHCC is able to use all of the latest software. Some of the main programs that SHCC relies upon are:

• Safari – web browsing
• iCal in conjunction with Google Calendar – scheduling
• OS X Mail
• Microsoft Office for Mac
• iPhoto – comprehensive inspection photo organization and management

Reports & Presentations

An inevitable part of any investigation entails the reporting of information. Steve Hill long ago recognized that these reports are sometimes the only evidence that may be used for defending an opinion. As a result, SHCC has spent much time developing reporting formats that are clear, concise, and convey pertinent information that is as easily digested by a practiced attorney or another expert, as well as by the lay person with little or no knowledge of construction. This is integral to the work product that SHCC delivers. Reports are always available in the ubiquitous PDF format and in high quality, professionally printed hard copy.

Although written reports and cost estimates are essential, a picture is worth thousand words (and on occasion – many thousands of dollars). For this purpose, SHCC leverages the power of Apple’s Keynote to deliver crisp and captivating presentations that allow the evidence to speak for itself.
